Apple Announced the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus - the '3D Touch' Sequel to Last Year's Model with Rose Gold Colour

Apple has officially revealed the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. No doubt, the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus looks exactly the same to the previous year's iPhones. Although it have the identical design, but on the inside, it's totally different with upgraded hardware. The major improvements are in the processor, camera, new technologies in the display and more.

Now, let's go into the details. First and foremost, the new iPhones introduce 3D Touch - a new ways to access and interact with iPhones by sensing the pressure applied on the screen. For instance, press lightly for quick review at email in your inbox, and press harder to go into the full content. The iPhone 6s has a 4.7-inch display, while the larger 6s Plus sports a 5.5-inch screen.


Under the hood, both the new iPhones are powered by Apple's new A9 processor which is 70% faster at CPU tasks and 90% faster at GPU works than the A8. The new chip also paired with an upgraded M9 motion co-processor that is embedded and it's always on. There's also a second generation Touch ID fingerprint scanner that is even faster than the last model.

In addition, farewell to the 8 MP iSight camera that have been sticking with iPhones since the iPhone 4s. Apple has finally upgraded the camera sensor to a new 12 MP unit, which packs in 50% more pixels than before. This time the new camera is capable of shooting 4K video. Besides that, the iPhone front-facing camera also bumped up from 1.2 MP to a new 5 MP shooter.


The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be available in Gold, Silver, Space Grey and the new Rose Gold. Pricing-wise, the iPhone 6s starts at $199 on-contract for 16 GB model, with 64 GB and 128 GB variants priced at $299 and $399, respectively; while the iPhone 6s Plus 16 GB version starts at $299 on-contract.

As for the pricing without contract, they will cost you:
  • iPhone 6s (16 GB) - $649 (about RM2,788)
  • iPhone 6s (64 GB) - $749 (about RM3,218)
  • iPhone 6s (128 GB) - $849 (about RM3,648)
  • iPhone 6s Plus (16 GB) - $749 (about RM3,218)
  • iPhone 6s Plus (64 GB) - $849 (about RM3,648)
  • iPhone 6s Plus (128 GB) - $949 (about RM4,077)

Both devices will be available starting on 25 September in selected countries and they run on iOS9, which will be rolling out on 16 September.
