Huawei Introduced the Company Two Latest P Series Smartphones - the Huawei P8 and Huawei P8max


Huawei has took the wraps off its flagship P8 and P8max smartphone at a launch event held in London. The Huawei P8 is a palm-friednly 5.2-inch device; on the other hand, the P8max is a phablet with huge 6.8-inch screen.

Both devices feature an aluminium body and equipped with the "world first four-colour RGBW sensor" as well as DSLR-grade independent image processor for the camera, which translate into improve low-light performance, reduce photo noise and better image contrast.

The Huawei P8 packs a 5.2-inch Full HD 1920 x 1080 edge-to-edge display. At the inside, there's a Huawei own 64-bit 2.0 GHz Octa-core Kirin 930 CPU paired with 3 GB of RAM. The device has 16 GB of internal storage, a mircoSD card slot, dual-SIM (one micro, one nano), Bluetooth 4.1, NFC and a 2,680 mAh battery.

The highlight of the phone will be its camera. It sports a 13 MP rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and a dual-tone LED flash. The "Light Painting" mode lets you to take long-exposure shots and the "Director" mode allow you capture video with pairing up to three other Android smartphones. An 8 MP front shooter is there too, for those selfie enthusiasts.


Another highlight of the device is the P8's dual-antenna setup, called the "Signal+ technology". It helps the phone connects to network faster and seamless network connectivity. The 6.4 mm thin phone runs on EMUI 3.1 on top of Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The P8 comes in two configurations: the standard version, 16 GB of internal storage carries a price tag of EUR499 (around RM1,945) and the premium version, 64 GB of internal storage priced at EUR599 (about RM2,335).

The Huawei P8max houses a huge 6.8-inch Full HD LTPS LCD display, the slim bezel design with 83% large screen-to-body ratio and it's just at 6.8 mm slim. Powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 935 Octa-core 64-bit processor clocked at 2.2 GHz and 3 GB of RAM.

At the same time, the P8max is packing with the same rear camera as per P8 which is a 13 MP RGBW sensor, OIS, professional-grade image processor and dual-tone LED flash. But, it has only a 5 MP front-facing camera.


The phablet will support dual-SIM and a microSD card up to 64 GB. Another selling point of the P8max is its gigantic 4,360 mAh battery which promises about 2.2 days of normal usage and about 10 hours of web browsing.

Other features included a DX19 conductive materials with 7-layer heat dissipation layer, 1-watt loudspeaker with 0.91 cc sound chamber and Android 5.0 with Emotion UI 3.1. The P8max will cost you EUR549 (around RM2,140) for a 32 GB model and EUR649 (around RM2,530) for a 64 GB model.
